Being stuck in
boring office job all day probably takes its toll on you after a while. Being
stuck in the daily routine of waking up and going to your desk job for 8 hours
and then coming home probably isn’t the ideal lifestyle for most people. But on
February 3rd, 2016 that wasn’t the case for many people in New York City.
Uber, the
popular service that allows people with cars to earn some extra cash by driving
people places almost like a cab service, teamed up with local animal shelters
in New York to brighten the days of people and dogs. Usually when you call Uber
they will be there in 15 minutes ready to take you to your destination.
In an event they
call UberPuppies, within 15 minutes of calling Uber they will deliver a car
full of puppies to your office. Many offices put their work on hold to spend
their day playing with these puppies. “It was a huge mood booster for everyone
in the offices that participated and it allowed workers to interact with each
other and meet people in different departments,” reported Entrepreneur.
New York isn’t
the only city that participated in “UberPuppies” the other cities include: Phoenix,
Baltimore, Cleveland, Dallas, Washington, Denver, Indianapolis, Los Angeles and
Seattle. The goals of this was to promote Animal Planets Annual Puppy Bowl,
encourage pet adoptions, and to increase worker cohesiveness.
I think this was a great advertising method for Uber to take
part in. They were able to give their brand a great reputation for working with
animal shelters. Also, to the businesses that participated, they were able to
boost their employees moral, which will most likely improve work ethic. Uber
has gone beyond the call of duty to get their brand out there. What will they
do next?
